Move money when and how you choose
At TIAA Direct, you have choices. You can make one-time and recurring transfers between your deposit accounts online, using the TIAA Direct Mobile Banking app, Text Banking, Telephone Banking and at ATMs.
You can also transfer money online between TIAA Direct and your accounts at other financial institutions, also known as your ‘external’ accounts.
To transfer money between your TIAA Direct accounts:
Log in at tiaadirect.com.
Click the Transfer Money tab.
To transfer money between your external accounts and TIAA Direct, select Add Account to get started.

Log in to Online Banking and choose the Transfers tab. Select a one-time or recurring transfer and follow the easy steps.
Yes, banking regulations limit the number of certain types of withdrawals and transfers that can be made from savings and money market accounts to 6 per statement period (e.g. Jan 1 – Feb 1 or May 15 – June 15). Here’s a quick rundown of what does (and does not) count toward the limit:

Funds can be wired to your TIAA Direct bank accounts (to fund a new account or to transfer funds into any existing accounts except CDs) from any U.S. bank.
